Twenty-five high school students in Olin, North Carolina were injured and transported to the hospital when an out of control delivery truck hit an awning support at a band competition.
A spokeswoman for Iredell-Statesville Schools stated that the students were standing under an awning at a local band competition when the delivery truck ran off the road and hit a structural beam, which caused the awning to fall on the students. One adult was also injured, and three were in serious condition.
We are very glad that no one was killed in this mishap and we dearly hope that all victims recover.

Anyone who is driving a truck either for a living or just temporarily has an important duty to really pay attention to what they are doing behind the wheel. Behind the wheel of a large vehicle is not the place to be distracted by anything besides the road in front of you.
